Thor: Love and Thunder Trailer Teases Lady Thor

In the shortest amount of time Marvel has ever left before a movie’s release, fans have finally been granted a teaser for Thor: Love and Thunder. The film is less than three months from release and the new trailer has given those anxiously anticipating its launch a look at Jane Foster as Lady Thor, wielding Mjölnir and all. It’s an incredibly exciting trailer, filled with fan-favorites such as the Guardians of the Galaxy, Valkyrie, and more. Check it out below, you won’t regret spending the next minute and a half on Thor.

Thor: Love and Thunder will see the return of the Norse God of Thunder’s love interest from the first two films, Jane Foster portrayed by Natalie Portman. Foster was left out of the third film, with the threequel being a reboot of sorts for the character. Marvel had hit its stride at that point and rightly entrusted Thor: Ragnarok in the hands of acclaimed director Taika Waititi. Foster’s absence was quickly explained away by an unfortunate breakup between her and Thor, but this next installment will see her wield more power than ever before. It’s unclear how she is granted the position of the next God of Thunder but judging by the trailer, it appears to be just as much of a surprise to Thor as to the audience.

In another exciting return in the new trailer, Mjölnir made an exciting appearance after last being seen blasted to pieces by Thor’s evil sister Hela (Cate Blanchett). The all-powerful hammer flies into the scene being caught by Natalie Portman’s Lady Thor, confirming she is worthy of the role of God of Thunder. It is clear that this is the same Mjölnir previously held by Odinson as cracks can be seen throughout the hammer, it appears to have been put back together somehow.

Thor: Love and Thunder releases in theaters everywhere on July 8, 2022.
