As a special thank you to players of some of the most recent PC games from Xbox Games Studios, Microsoft is offering a free three-month trial of PC Game Pass to certain gamers. As announced on the Xbox website, PC Game Pass will be offered for free for a three month period to anyone who, while logged into their Microsoft Account on PC, played Forza Horizon 5, Halo Infinite or Age Of Empires 4 at any time before 28 Feb 2022.
This also includes anyone who might have dipped into the Halo Infinite Multiplayer campaign as well as the Halo Infinite Campaign mode.
The latest free trial offer is only available to new Xbox Game Pass members only, meaning that you’ll have to have never subscribed to Game Pass either for PC or the console version, or Ultimate, in order to be considered as being eligible for the free trial. If you used to have a subscription that you allowed to expire and want to check this offer out, unfortunately, it won’t be applicable to you either.
Other exclusions are for those located in Russia and India, which, although there’s no reason given, is probably to do with the state of ongoing world events and Microsoft’s suspension of sales in Russia as of early March.
Microsoft is clearly working hard behind the scenes on making sure Game Pass becomes more accessible. Back at the end of March, it was reported that Game Pass would be reportedly getting a new ‘family plan’ subscription model. This would mean that different members of the same household will be able to share on Xbox Game Pass subscription. With this and the offer of free trials for new audiences, it’s clear that Game Pass is going from strength to strength when it comes to broadening it’s reach.
