New Skyrim Battle Grounds Mod Adds New Arena Trials

April 14, 2022 by Alexandra Nicholson

A new Skyrim mod project will have players facing Arena combat in-game. Battle Grounds: Trials of Mundus is a newly released mod for the epic roleplaying game which adds 9 original battle arenas to Skyrim for players to explore. In addition to this, players can take on a range of new bosses as part of the mod, each of which fits in with the unique theme of the different arenas.

The mod works for Skyrim: Special Edition on PC. To get started, players will need to make their way to the new Battle Grounds Hall, which is located through a portal that’s based at the Throat of the World. Check out the trailer here.

Battle Grounds: Trials of Mundus gives players the chance to earn themselves some new and interesting rewards too. In return for completing each battle arena successfully, players can bag themselves some special items that can be used to craft unique weapons, tools, and spells.  Some of these include spells named Wrath of Apocrypha, Arctic Blast, Shield of Magnus, Shadow Step and other epic-sounding magic abilities.

In terms of weapons, the mod enables players to craft their own new weapons and ammo in the Magma Forge in the Battle Grounds Hall. Some of these include the awesome-sounding Blood and Paralysis Arrows, the Demon Blood Katana and the Elder Shadow Bow, to name a few.

As detailed by the mod’s creator on the official release page, Battle Grounds: Trials of Mundus is just the first chapter in the mod, which is intended to be an ongoing project. With many gamers waiting longingly for any signs of news on The Elder Scrolls 6, it’s good to see that the Skyrim modding community is still thriving like this. If you’re looking to enhance your experience as the Dragonborn, it’s worth checking out this latest mod to switch up your gameplay experience a bit.

You can check out all the details for Battle Grounds: Trials of Mundus over on the mod’s official Nexus Mods page.

Skyrim: Special Edition is available now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X, Xbox One and PC.
