There have been some great cinematic gaming teaser trailers over the years, 2006s Tony Hawk’s Project 8 and 2011s Dead Island are just two memorable teasers that come to mind when sifting through that endless list of greats. But now, we might just have another to add to that ever-expanding list, as the Hell is Us teaser trailer has been released, and it’s looking pretty darn good as well. Watch the trailer below to see what we mean.
As you can see from the trailer, this looks like a very dark and interesting concept with some crazy visuals that look absolutely epic. The dark and murderous tone of the beginning is then transformed into a brief but cool insight into the world that will be the setting for this science-fiction game. That little drone friend of the mysterious character could be a similar companion to the one you get in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order – we all know how well received that little guy was.
Now, let us tell you a little about the story, it centers on a country being torn apart by civil war, and if that’s not enough, a mysterious event has taken place that sees the arrival of some supernatural creatures that seem to be unaffected by modern weaponry, something that is bound to cause a few minor issues. The game will be focused on an exploration element, the only issue (apart from the fearsome invaders) is that you have no map, no compass, or any quest markers to act as your guide – you have been thrown into the deep end, that’s for sure. Players will have to follow their instincts, as well as the creative writing and the unique level design that structures the game. Players will be helped by a wide range of weapons though, so you won’t be left fighting these monsters with your compass-less hands.
Now, you know a game’s going to be epic when the teaser trailer has a restriction on it, and as the nearly two-minute trailer progresses, with Shakespearean passages and all, you can’t help but succumb to its mystery and eeriness. Hell is Us, which is being developed by Rogue Factor, will be heading to PC, Playstation 5, and Xbox Series X/S in 2023, so watch out for that one.
