Activision has finally deigned to cater to their small fanbase of gamers—at least in comparison to those on the 360—on the PS3 to launch the Call of Duty Elite beta on the platform.
Owners of Call of Duty: Black Ops will be automatically enrolled into the Call of Duty Elite beta in stages, the first of which will be rolled out today.
Like its counterpart on the Xbox 360, the beta is intended to acclimatize players with the various features of the Call of Duty Elite system rather than actually test anything. They have in-house people for that. Activision's peddling a drug to Call of Duty players and the beta testers will be the first ones hooked.
Call of Duty Elite is set for an "official" launch on November 8 with the release of Modern Warfare 3, and stat tracking, custom player groups, competitive events and a video sharing service. I'd be lying if I said it was special.
