The trailer is simply called Beyond the Shadows, and it puts the spotlight on this year’s MVP, Stephen Curry. While we do get to see some game footage, this is everything about setting up Curry’s narrative, as someone who had to prove himself multiple times over. It makes for great storytelling, and more importantly, it might be a hint on what direction MyCareer is taking under Spike Lee’s guidance.
So, taking stock of what we already know:
· That Spike Lee is directing the game, and has really taken a hands-on role;
· That college basketball teams were licensed and will have a major role in MyCareer and beyond;
· And that the label “Spike Lee Joint” has always meant a more personal touch when it meant to Lee’s projects;
All signs point to a cinematic, dramatic approach to MyCareer for each of the three players under the spotlight for NBA 2K16. Are you looking forward to playing Stephen Curry’s MyCareer? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
NBA 2K16 will be released on November 29 on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Windows.
