Hearthstone: The Grand Tournament’s Joust Feature Explained

August 5, 2015 by Ian Miles Cheong

Here’s how Joust works.

Hearthstone's upcoming expansion pack, The Grand Tournament, is set to offer an all new feature called Jousting.

The expansion is set to introduce a new set of cards with the joust ability, which draws a random card from each player's deck. The player with the highest value card will be rewarded with the joust boost.

As with anything in Hearthstone, joust isn't some generic ability. The boost varies from card to card, and can include everything from giving the card taunt or divine shield, to restoring health.

While previewing the expansion, Blizzard said that they hope the new joust element will encourage players to fill their decks with a broader range of strong cards.

In addition to providing details about the upcoming expansion, Blizzard says that they will be implementing a new reward system for players based on the rank they achieved in the previous month. Players can recieve up to three gold cards and some dust based on the rank they reach.

The expansion is set for release on all Hearthstone platforms this August.
