Mirror’s Edge Catalyst Alpha Gameplay Revealed For Gamescom

August 5, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

The trailer shows one of Faith’s runs play out badly, partly because she wouldn’t let go.

EA has shared alpha footage of Mirror’s Edge Catalyst in time for Gamescom, and it’s a doozy.

The trailer shows a run play out badly. Faith enters the Elysium building, presumably to steal some information. When she gets in, they get alerted that Gabriel Kruger, with all his guards and security, just entered the building. To her contact’s consternation, Faith decides to keep going.

However, what she finds inside is even more worrying, as another person has snuck in, apparently to steal the same thing that Faith was looking for, and this person was clearly not a runner like her. With the all black military outfit and three lensed goggles, the mysterious individual seems to be a third party.

As Faith follows this person, she finds that there is a hidden laboratory where she expected to see some agricultural research facilities. Finally, Gabriel catches the interloper and siccs his guards on them. Faith takes the opportunity to pick up the item the stranger stole and runs off with it, but not before Gabriel and his guards get a good look at her.

The trailer also does the work of showing off Faith’s parkour, and she is as nimble as ever. Seemingly impossible far jumps, climbing up pipes and ridges when she can. If there’s a part of a wall or building that looks like Faith can hold onto it, she can.

Watch the full trailer above. Mirror’s Edge Catalyst will be released on February 23, 2016 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows.
