Kingdom Gets Its First Ever Gameplay Trailer

August 3, 2015 by Ian Miles Cheong

Check out Kingdom, a new indie game from Noio and Licorice.

Independent publisher Raw Fury Games has just released the trailer of its very first game, Kingdom, and it looks pretty damn good.

In Kingdom, players take on the role of a king, collecting coins, which you can then spend on a variety of buildings. Players must attend to their domain, which spans from side to side, while venturing into the frontier to discover new things. When darkness comes, players must stand with their people and protect them from the trolls who come out at night and threaten to destroy the kingdom.

All of the game is depicted in gorgeous 2D pixel art.

Kingdom is described as an original and unique pixel art game designed by Thomas van den Berg (Noio), a Dutch game developer who created the original concept in Flash. Having garnered some popularity, van den Berg teamed up with Marco Bancale (Licorice) who decided to port the game to iOS and create a full-fledged title out of it. Together, the developers redesigned and expanded upon the original concept while keeping its core mechanics and won the Nordic Game Program.

The game is being developed on Unity and supports PC, Mac, iOS and Android.
