The popular sandbox title Terraria will be making its way to both the Nintendo 3DS and the Nintendo Wii U, its developers have confirmed.
505 Games and Re-Logic will be porting the game to the Nintendo platforms for a whole new set of gamers who may not have played Terraria before. The developers state that it will be a chance for them to explore the possibilities of the game with dual-screen functionality offered by both platforms.
They state that players will have to own a copy of the game to play with each other in multiplayer as there will not be any "download play" functionality. There will be support for Miiverse, but there are no plans to implement voice chat.
The Wii U and 3DS ports will not slow or hinder the development of the ports of the game to other console platforms as it is being handled by a different team.
The developers also state that they will be looking into adding Nintendo-themed outfits for characters.
Both versions will be released in eearly 2016.
The developers answered some questions about the game on their official forums.
