Fallout 76 has pretty much been a hot talking point for Fallout fans ever since its somewhat controversial launch back in 2018. However, the game has seen a lot of changes since those rocky days, in the beginning, thanks to the injection of some much-needed (although perhaps not as well-fleshed out as they could have been) chapters of DLC, and updates to the game modes over the last few years.
The much needed Wastelanders update enhanced the game’s fairly barren world massively, and thanks to the addition of Steel Dawn, Steel Reign, Night Of The Moth and most recently, Invaders From Beyond, the game isn’t on quite as dangerous ground as it once was.
The latest news from the world of Fallout 76 is encouraging. Today, developers Double Eleven, whose notable games include the massively popular survival MMORPG Rust, have announced that they’re working with Bethesda on new content for Appalachia.
According to an update on their website, Double Eleven claim to have begun speaking with Bethesda back in late 2020 and have been working on “a host of exciting new content that’ will be enjoyed by this passionate community of fans later in 2022”. Double Eleven CEO Lee Hutchinson also shared his excitement at working with Bethesda.
It’s a privilege to be trusted to work on one of the most iconic franchises in gaming history. The team we’ve assembled to work on Fallout 76 are so passionate about the series, working with Bethesda is a dream come true.

Despite the game’s somewhat divisive place in the Fallout universe, fans of the franchise will be glad to see that Bethesda clearly isn’t giving up on Fallout 76 any time soon. This is welcome news, alongside the recent announcement of a five-year plan for the game. What exactly these exciting new changes and content additions will materialise as we’ll just have to wait and see.
