All Skin Tone Options, More in Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer

July 29, 2015 by Michael Fossbakk

Eight skin tone options in total.

With Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer having been released in Japan today (technically July 30th thanks to differing time zones), we now have a look at the different skin tones, hairstyles, and eye shapes available when creating your character, thanks to Jingles on Tumblr.

Each gender (female and male) have the same six eye color, eight skin tone, and 16 hair color options, but each has 12 different eye shape options and 16 different hairstyles.

It was previously revealed in June that Happy Home Designer would feature the option to set your character’s skin tone, a first for the series, but the amount of skin tone options was not known until now. Previous entries in the Animal Crossing series required players to spend time in the sun with their avatar on a tropical island in order to darken their avatar’s skin tone, or tan, temporarily.

Happy Home Designer strays from the gameplay formula of most Animal Crossing games by placing a focus on designing the interior and exterior of your home and the homes of your neighboring villagers. This will range from where a villager’s home is placed in the town to the outside landscaping around the house, and, of course, the interior design of each room in the house.

Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer is now available for Nintendo 3DS in Japan and will be released in North America on Sept. 25 and in Europe on Oct. 2.
