Nintendo has revealed financial results for Q1 fiscal year 2015. As the late President Satoru Iwata wanted, the company has returned to making Nintendo-like profits.
The company made $ 729 million in sales, and operating income of $ 9.3 million. They beat financial expert predictions of a $ 1 million loss, but that’s not all.
Nintendo has not made this much money since fiscal 2012, and it is the first time they have reported positive operating income since fiscal 2011. It’s worth noting that it says they made more money on paper during fiscal 2012, but the company also spent a lot of money in this period on research and development, which presumably is now bearing fruit with amiibo, the pending release of QOL, Nintendo’s mobile games, NX, etc.
Among highlights in the report are Splatoon, the Wii U’s latest hit, now selling 1.62 million units worldwide. Of course, it has helped Nintendo sell more of the home console, which is now over 10 million units sold. You can peruse other facts and figures below:
