If you’ve been looking forward to the upcoming survival horror Evil Dead: The Game, you might be able to get a first look at it this weekend. Starting on March 25th at 10 AM PT/ 5 PM GMT, the Closed Beta for the game will kick off on Xbox. It’ll be open exclusively to Xbox Insiders on Xbox who have signed up to secure their spot in the playtest.
In an official post from the Xbox Insider Program, details of how to sign up to participate in the Closed Beta have been shared. If you’re keen to put yourself in the shoes of the iconic Ash Williams and his companions as they battle the ferocious evil Deadites, here’s how to get involved.
- Sign-in on your Xbox console and launch the Xbox Insider Hub app (or install the Xbox Insider Hub from the Store first if necessary).
- Navigate to Previews > Evil Dead: The Game – BETA.
- Select Join.
- Wait for the registration to complete to secure your spot for the Closed Beta.
Signing up to take part in the playtest will secure your spot, but you’ll need to make sure you return to the Xbox Insider Hub on March 25th and begin installing the game by selecting Show In Store. This will be a first-come, first-served offer, so if you’re itching to take part in the undead-slashing survival fun, you’d better get yourself signed up as soon as possible. The playtest ends on March 27th at 11:59 PM PT/ 06: 59 AM GMT.
Evil Dead: The Game features a combination of co-operative multiplayer gameplay as well as a PvP survival mode. You and your team, who will be made up of iconic characters from the Evil Dead movie, TV and gaming franchise, will need to keep your wits about you as you explore, loot, shoot and discover ways to seal the breach between worlds to stave off the Deadites.
For those unable to take part in the Xbox Insider Closed Beta, Evil Dead: The Game will launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC on May 13th.
