We know Monster Hunter is at its most popular ever, having hit a landmark one million units sold in the West. Facts and figures are one thing though. Do you want a really amazing sign the franchise has caught on? You’re going to love this.
As revealed by fan and Tokyo based game producer Andrew Evanko, Capcom hosts speed dating events with a Monster Hunter theme. Instead of the usual boring and awkward dates, however, the lucky twosome already know they have something in common, since they’ve met up to play Monster Hunter together!

As these photos reveal, Capcom has gone all in on the idea, and they’ve been smart about it too. They offer jackets and canvas bags for players who participate, and, as a result, the events are resounding successes.
We do not know if any of these gamers have found more than playmates in these events, but it’s already a success for Capcom. As Andrew remarks, the players themselves are more than eager to participate. The logic being if they have Monster Hunter in common, they likely share other interests as well.
