Pokkén Tournament, the fighting game from Bandai Namco that has only been released in Japanese arcades so far, might be coming to North America, according to senior vice president of Dave and Buster’s Kevin Bachus.
Bachus said on Reddit this week that Dave and Buster’s would begin testing the arcade machines at select locations.
"Yes. We will be testing Pokken [sic]," Bachus said. "Candidly both NAMCO and I are more optimistic about that title and our typical guests than Tekken."
No word on which of Dave and Buster’s almost 80 locations will serve as test locations for Pokkén Tournament, but the arcade restaurant chain is currently testing Tekken 7, another Bandai Namco game at three of its locations.
Pokkén Tournament was released in Japanese arcades earlier this month. Charizard and Weavile were the last two Pokémon to join the nine playable character roster, which also includes Lucario, Machamp, Suicune, Gardevoir, Pikachu, and Gengar. Blaziken will join the roster later this year. Jirachi and Whimsicott will appear in the game as non-playable support Pokémon.
