Redout 2 Reveals Its First Gameplay Trailer

March 15, 2022 by Ophelie Castelot

Redout 2 shows more about its gameplay in a new trailer.

Redout 2, an upcoming fast-paced racing game, unveils more details about its gameplay. The latest trailer of Redout 2 shows additional information about the tracks and cars available in the game.

Saber Interactive, the publisher of Redout 2, describes this upcoming game as the “fastest racing game in the universe.” The game takes place in 2589, where pilots face off in the solo Redout Racing League. Racing is one of the most popular sports in the galaxy, and several twisted tracks lie among the stars.

Of course, gravity is not a thing in space, so it may be hard to drive a car there. But in Redout 2, pilots drive anti-gravity ships on magnetic race tracks, allowing them to get rid of the constraints of the laws of physic.

On top of controlling the direction of the car and its speed, players can strafe, tilt, and boost their ship to maximize their efficiency on the track. Several difficulty options and settings adjust the racing experience so everyone can become a space pilot, even with little to no experience in driving in space.

The first Redout game featured 5 racing locations. The sequel doubles this number, with 10 different locations and a total of 36 racing tracks. All of them can also be played in reverse, for a total of 72 unique tracks.

To compete on those tracks, Redout 2 offers customization for the ships. There are 12 distinct chassis, each with its own base attributes. Several pieces of the ships are customizable, such as propulsors, stabilizers, wings, spoilers, and rocket engines.

Redout 2 includes 6 unique game modes: Time Attack, Race, Arena Race, Last Man Standing, Speed, and Boss. The goal of Time Attack is to beat a track’s best time, without any opponent or distraction. Race and Arena Race are multiplayer modes, the difference being there are no respawns in Arena Race. Last Man Standing eliminates the last racer in each lap until a single pilot is left on the track. Speed is a race against time, and Boss is a Best-Of-3 mode. These modes are available both offline and online, with up to 12 players.

Redout 2 will be coming out in 2022 on PlayStation consoles.
