EA has announced that all Origin Accounts will be renamed as an EA Account in the weeks to come.
The publisher and owner of the games client said the change will "better represent all of EA's games and services."
It seems this is the only change which will be occuring – at least in the near future – with your identity, order history, and account preferences all remaining the same.
Users will also continue to use the same login details to access Origin, as well as other EA services.
Whether or not this marks the beginning of Origin's eventual demise or really is just a one-off change remains to be seen, but we'll update should EA reveal any additional plans regarding the service.
Since parting ways with Valve's Steam several years ago, Origin has been the primary destination for EA games on PC.
