We have confirmation that a new Pokemon has been introduced in the latest Pokemon theatrical feature, Hoopa Unbound.
Details on the new Pokemon are scarce, but some people who watched the movie in theaters have corroborated that the new Pokemon is real. Our cover image above is a fan rendering of the Pokemon based on its appearance in the movie. While it’s possible that this new Pokemon is also an evolution or variation of an existing Pokemon, we will not know until The Pokemon Company makes an official announcement.
In fact, we will not know much about this new Pokemon until details are revealed by Pokemon Company. Of course, there are no Pokemon that have not eventually made their way to the video games, whether they were introduced via a theatrical feature, a TV cartoon, the live action TV show, or other media.
Don’t forget, The Pokemon Company coordinates with Nintendo, Creatures Inc, Game Freak, Toei, and their other partners to ensure Pokemon is a consistent brand across different media. In any case, while it does not seem like new Pokemon titles are forthcoming for this year, this new Pokemon could easily be made DLC for the mainline Pokemon games, Pokemon X, Pokemon Y, Pokemon Omega Ruby, and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire, as well as spinoff games like Pokemon Shuffle and Pokemon Trading Card Game for mobile and PC.
