Update
Stranger of Paradise demo has officially been unveiled.
Original Story…
Ahead of tonight’s State Of Play, and just after Square Enix launched a 35th anniversary site for Final Fantasy, it looks like we’re getting a brand new demo tonight.
Strange Of Paradise has actually already had two released demos. The first demo released just after the game was announced last year, but was absolutely broken upon release and literally wouldn’t load for anybody, forcing Square Enix to extend the length of the demo. Then another released last October to test the multiplayer component of the game. Now this appears to be the final demo before the full release of the game.
Personally I’m cautiously optimistic for Stranger Of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin. The original reveal of the game was straight up one of the weirdest reveals I’ve ever seen, but later trailers pulled me back before the Frank Sinatra trailer absolutely broke me on a fundamental level and I’ve been interested ever since.
This leak will likely disappoint people who were hoping to see anything from Final Fantasy XVI or the Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters. Thanks to the presence of Stranger Of Paradise, it’s likely Square Enix will be exclusively focusing on the title since it releases towards the end of this month. At most, we’ll get a tease of a reveal for FF XVI in the future, but don’t expect to see anything too groundbreaking.
