Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr, developed by NeocoreGames, is in development for PC and consoles, the Budapest-based developer announced today.
The project is described as a “persistent sandbox action-RPG” that is being developed in partnership with Games Workshop, creators of the Warhammer 40,000 universe. While the single-player campaign will be a main component of the game that will place players in “a grim and secret war among the stars as the agents of the ever-vigilant Inquisition,” a sandbox component of the game will give players added replay value after the campaign’s conclusion. NeocoreGames promises to support the sandbox portion of the game with “years of constant entertainment, gradual development, and a continuous flow of content that enriches the action-RPG gameplay.”
“There’s a reason why we chose the world of Warhammer 40,000: it’s intense, brutal, visceral – a perfect material for an action RPG,” said producer Zoltán Pozsonyi in a statement. “Working with Games Workshop, we’re doing our best to bring a high quality game to the community. We’re huge fans as well, so we care deeply about this game.”
NeocoreGames also recently announced The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cut, a compilation package of all three games from the trilogy series with added content, for PC.
Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyris set for release in 2016 for PC, Mac, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
