Star Wars Battlefront Playable at Comic Con, More Details to be Revealed

July 9, 2015 by Stephen Daly

DICE says the game’s single player and co-op offers ‘very high’ replayability.

DICE has confirmed that San Diego Comic Con attendees will be able to play Star Wars Battlefront during the show, which begins tomorrow, July 9th, and runs until Sunday, July 12th. SDCC will be the first in a series of events where players will be able to try out the game ahead of launch.

This is the perfect opportunity for fans who weren't able to secure a place in the alpha to go hands-on with the shooter. As for the alpha, itself, the trial is said to have been an upgraded version of the footage seen by fans and press at E3 last month. Rather than reveal more of the game, the alpha was intended to test the stability and connectivity of EA's servers.

We may also learn more about the mini-game modes, which DICE hasn't really detailed to date, during Comic Con.

Level artist Daniel Cambrian has also said that he believes the game's single player and co-op offers "very high" replayability. It has been confirmed that the shooter will not feature a traditional campaign.

The Star Wars panel at Comic-Con will include LucasArts Kathleen Kennedy and The Force Awakens director JJ Abrams but fans shouldn't expect to see a new trailer until the autumn.

Star Wars Battlefront launches for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on November 17th, The Force Awakens arrives in cinemas on December 18th.
