Gears of War Ultimate Edition’s Install Size is 44GB

July 8, 2015 by Stephen Daly

Or seven times larger than the original Xbox 360 version.

If you plan on playing stepping back into Marcus Fenix's shoes next month, you'll need 44.2GB of free space on your Xbox One HDD or external storage in order to play Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, according to the Xbox website.

The re-master takes up roughly seven times more space than the original game did on Xbox 360.

Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is offers remastered visuals, improved lighting, enhanced character models and environments, five extra chapters, and multiplayer at 1080p/60fps. The game also features beta access to Gears of War 4 which launches in holiday 2016.

Developer The Coalition has also confirmed that a digital version of the Ultimate Edition will be available, along with the option to pre-download the game.

Lots of questions about digital version of Ultimate Edition – it's coming soon, we want to have the pre-order also enable pre-download.

The game will be released exclusively on Xbox One on August 28th.
