God of War Ragnarok Could Appear at March State of Play

February 23, 2022 by Carley Garcia

An insider suggests that the game won’t see another delay.

Now that Horizon Forbidden West is in the hands of Sony fans, many are looking towards the rest of 2022. God of War Ragnarok has been quiet since the end of 2021 when a gameplay trailer finally dropped, and while the title is still slated for a 2022 release, no actual date has been confirmed. Earlier this week, well-known Bloomberg reporter and insider Jason Schreier noted that Ragnarok would not be delayed again, but that leads to one question–when will we see more of Kratos and Atreus? The answer could be March.

A recent Twitter thread has many believing that the next PlayStation State of Play will be held sometime in March. In response to a question posed by industry insider Tom Henderson, user @Shpeshal_Nick not only claims that Sony has an event planned for March–he claims that it’s supposed to be “the good one.”

Happy to add to what’s already out there. Yes, they’ve got a show in March. This is supposed to be “the good one” https://t.co/lG0THwSOgq

The last State of Play stream showed off Gran Turismo 7, the next major PlayStation exclusive to be released on March 4, 2022. Many fans are certain that even if not much is shown, God of War will make an appearance soon–likely with a release date announcement.

Many among the Sony online community believe that a number of other highly sought-after titles will be revealed in the upcoming State of Play, such as a new Sly Cooper title and more games for the new PSVR2 headset.

God of War Ragnarok doesn’t have a concrete release date quite yet, but the title is set to hit PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles in 2022. At the end of December 2021, a post on the PlayStation official database listed the game’s release date as September 30, 2022, though this might be a placeholder.

Rumors regarding a PC port of the upcoming title are already spreading online given the extreme success of the first game. Players might not have to wait so long this time around.
