Star Wars Battlefront PC Alpha Invites Rolling Out

June 26, 2015 by Michael Fossbakk

Alpha system requirements are not indicative of the final game’s requirements.

EA DICE has started sending out invites to its closed alpha test of Star Wars Battlefront for PC.

“The purpose of the Star Wars Battlefront Closed Alpha is to perform a number of technical tests that will help the team at DICE as they continue the development of the game,” reads an email from EA obtained by Polygon.

Users of EA’s online digital distribution service Origin who receive this email can then apply for the alpha. Submitting an application for the alpha test does not guarantee acceptance into the program.

Before applying to the alpha, players should note the system requirements for this alpha test, which are not the requirements of the final game:

  • CPU: Quad Core CPU e.g. Intel Core i5-2300 @ 2.8 GHz or AMD Phenom II x4 955 @ 3.2 GHz or AMD FX-8350 @ 4.0 GHz
  • RAM: 6 GB
  • OS: Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8/8.1 (64-bit operating system required)
  • Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 or AMD Radeon HD 7970 with 2 GB of Video Memory

This alpha test is only meant to help EA DICE in the development of Star Wars Battlefront, does not represent the final game, and progress/characters made in the alpha will not carry over to the final game.

“Performance at this stage of development may be inconsistent, with possible issues such as server lag and downtime,” EA DICE says.

Should you wish to register for the alpha, head over to the Star Wars Battlefront website. The application deadline is 7:59 p.m. ET on Monday, June 29).
