After an earlier leak, CD Projekt Red have officially revealed a next-generation version of their latest game, Cyberpunk 2077.
The game will now feature 4K resolution (with dynamic scaling), faster loading times and a whole host of changes to things such as the lighting. If you’re playing on PS5, then you’ll now have full support for haptic feedback and the adaptive triggers that the Dualsense boasts.
CD Projekt Red have also spoken about how they’ve overhauled certain systems, with the skill tree having an entirely new section dedicated to knife throwing. The AI has also been overhauled, now able to react to your actions and not simply despawning the second you look away from a crowd. This extends to vehicles too, with drivers now panicking if you shoot at them and not staying ambivalent as if you’re holding a gun for the sake of your own health.
Patch 1.5 also has raytraced shadows, a hairdressing mirror, 60FPS, spatial headphone audio and a full rebalance of loot, gameplay and the economy of the game itself.
All of this is on top of a change to how driving handles and the newly added ability to change how your apartment looks/own multiple apartments. In practice, this all sounds great, but it’ll depend on player feedback whether or not this is going to be worth a return visit to Night City.
