PlayStation Access has posted a new video with EA Sports producer Nick Channon about FIFA 16.
Channon noted that the developer wanted to "use this year to take a step back and look at the game as a whole. Look at everything that we do, all the systems that we have… how do we bring the level up everywhere and how can we innovate? It's as simple as that really, we're looking at every system within our game and innovating within them all."
He said the developer was listening to player feedback, particularly about offering more robust defending and overhauling midfield play. Channon noted that EA has increased the agility of defenders so they could keep up with wingers and improved the balance between attacking and defending players.
Attacking has also been improved but teams like Real Madrid and Barcelona won't find things quite so easy this time round, though there will be new options available to players.
The developer also spoke about the addition of women's teams to the series for the very first time. Three years they modelled a woman's head onto a man's body to determine the deficiencies of that approach before opting for full modelling and investing significantly in improving the hair textures and designs of players, among other features.
FIFA 16 launches later this September for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
