Deus Ex: Human Revolution has shipped 2 million copies according to its publisher Square Enix, making it one of their most successful launches in recent time. The game, which has been out for only a few weeks, earned critical praise from fans of the franchise and critics alike.
Square Enix content manager Jem Alexander says that the sales data was collected from both the United States and Europe. The game has not yet been released in Japan as of yet.
According to GamaSutra, Deus Ex: Human Revolution managed to topple chart-topper Zumba Fitness from its 10 week reign to the number one position.
The first DLC for the game, titled The Missing Link, is slated for release next month on the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Given the popularity of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, it's safe to say that the franchise will remain alive and well, and work towards Eidos Montreal's other title, Thief 4, will continue as planned.
