Bethesda announced Fallout Shelter, a city-builder mobile game, at their E3 press conference last Sunday. You get to play as an Overseer selected by Vault-Tec and build the perfect Vault. Then Bethesda dropped a bomb: The game would be available that night, but only on iOS.
So far, Fallout Shelter has beaten out crowd favorites on the iOS App Store, the ever-popular Candy Crush Saga being among them. The game stands out amongst the freemium games that are designed to make you purchase something as the game progresses, and Bethesda had wanted to “make sure it was fun first and foremost,” according to VP of PR and marketing Pete Hines.
This is well and good, but we’re sure more than a few fans were disappointed to hear that it was only available for iOS. Bethesda had us scratching our heads over this one; surely they knew that not all members of Fallout’s sizeable fan base would be using iOS devices?
Rest assured, Bethesda hasn’t forgotten Android users!
Yes, we're also working on Fallout Shelter for Android. Hopefully out in a few months.

That looks like a solid promise to us. It’s still a bit sad that it’ll still take a few months, but we love us some Fallout games, so we’re willing to wait. Fallout 4 will be out for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on November 10, 2015. Maybe Android will get Fallout Shelter before that?
