E3 2015: Just Dance Unlimited Brings Together Smartphones And Consoles

June 15, 2015 by Vanessa Lopa

Bringing smartphones into the equation eliminates the need for additional peripherals and cameras. We hope you’ve got a good grip, or else phones will fly.

Just Dance 2016, the latest installment of the popular Ubisoft franchise, has just been announced. It’ll come with everything players love (or hate) about every Just Dance title, and maybe a little more.

Also announced at Ubisoft’s E3 press conference is the launch of Just Dance Unlimited, a subscription-type streaming service that gives you access to new songs all the time. Upon subscribing, players can enjoy over 150 exclusive songs and old favorites from previous JD titles.

All-new game modes that are exclusive to new-gen consoles are also being introduced with Just Dance 2016. Dance Quests mode allows you to take a shot at “beating the game” by successfully completing challenges; Dance Party mode lets you compete against or work together with your friends and family to get the highest score possible in this new co-op mode; last but not least, the World Video Challenge, which allows players to send videos of their performances to any of their friends and challenge them to dance along.

All the fun that Just Dance 2016 will bring is made even more accessible by the Just Dance Controller App. This free app allows players to use their Android, Apple, or Windows phones as motion sensors that tracks the accuracy of their moves. The app will work in tandem with PlayStation 4, Wii U, and Xbox One, eliminating the need for additional peripherals or cameras.

A small portion of the Just Dance 2016 playlist was revealed at E3. Did any of your favorites make it?

·         “Want to Want Me” by Jason Derulo

·         “Uptown Funk” by Mark Ronson Ft. Bruno Mars

·         “All About That Bass” by Meghan Trainor

·         “Hey Mama” by David Guetta Ft. Nicki Minaj, Afrojack & Bebe Rexha

·         “Animals” by Martin Garrix

·         “Blame” by Calvin Harris Ft. John Newman

·         “Born This Way” by Lady Gaga

·         “Gibberish” by MAX

·         “Hangover (BaBaBa)” by Buraka Som Sistema

·         “I Gotta Feeling” by The Black Eyed Peas

·         “Ievan Polkka” by Hatsune Miku

·         “Let’s Groove” by Equinox Stars

·         “William Tell – Overture” by Rossini

Just Dance 2016 will be released on October 20 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Wii U, Wii, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.
