E3 has kicked off early with Bethesda bringing in some bloody explosions via DOOM. Id Software executive producer Marty Stratton said the older Doom games were the inspiration for this newest project. “They were simple, but they made us feel smart, fast, and powerful.”
The combat revolved around three things: badass demons, big guns, and moving fast. They’re bringing that back with DOOM. We’ve got gameplay footage here, where we go through corridors. Frankly, corridors are boring. Corridors with bloody explosions are way more entertaining though. Everything looks much shinier, and grosser, and everyone loves it. The firepower in this game is exciting, and item pickup and weapon selection is much more streamlined.
DOOM is a shiny new game that brings back exactly what the original games were all about. As Stratton said, “We can’t wait to get DOOM into your hands in Spring 2016 on Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4.”
