Batman Arkham Knight’s Red Hood Gets A Full Trailer

June 9, 2015 by Vanessa Lopa

We thought the initial trailer was suspiciously short, but this new trailer does not disappoint.

Two weeks ago, Gamestop teased the Red Hood DLC story pack for Batman: Arkham Knight. They released a quickie trailer that held all of four glorious seconds of gameplay. Turns out, that wasn’t all of it.

The full trailer has just been released, and Red Hood’s viciousness really shines through. YouTuber CabooseXBL gives us another trailer breadown with some insights and speculations:

This new trailer includes the gameplay footage shown in the first trailer, and plenty more. We get confirmation that the Red Hood story will take place in the Chinatown area, but still no word on when in the Arkham Knight storyline this takes place. Will it take place before the events of Arkham Knight, like Harley Quinn’s story pack?

We’ve mentioned before that Red Hood has no problem with killing, and he’s merciless in this trailer. You can hear a nice crunch when he breaks a guy’s neck, and he’s sending bullets flying everywhere. He’s practically mopping the floor with these thugs’ faces. Again, the Black Mask thugs are all over this video, confirming that Red Hood is in fact going after Black Mask.

Notable is the lack of blood spewing out of his victims’ bodies. He’s shooting everyone and the floor isn’t covered in bloody puddles or anything. In the Harley Quinn trailer, there was a little blood action going on, but it’s surprisingly absent here. Was this a conscious move on the part of the developers? The game already has the M rating because of all the violence, but it looks like they chose not to glorify it much. It’s just something you need to do in the Arkhamverse.

Confirmed in this trailer: The story will take place in the Chinatown district of Gotham. He’s going after Black Mask. Red Hood’s got Detective Vision and aerial attacks. Oh, and thugs’ faces will meet the ground on more than one occasion. We’re ridiculously excited for the game to be released already.

The Red Hood story pack DLC will come as a Gamestop pre-order exclusive. Batman: Arkham Knight is slated for release on June 23 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
