Creator of Super Smash Bros. Masahiro Sakurai will be giving a presentation on Sunday, June 14 to announce what he and his team have been working on for the fourth entry in the beat-em-up series for Wii U and 3DS, Nintendo announced Monday.
The presentation will take place at 10:40 a.m. ET on June 14 and will be able to be viewed on Nintendo’s E3 website. June 14 is also the day that Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS will receive its second downloadable character, Lucas, as well as some Splatoon-themed outfits for the game’s Mii Fighters.
Last month, Nintendo announced its plans for E3 this year, including a revival of the Nintendo World Championship. The World Championship will begin June 14 at 6 p.m. ET and will stream live from Los Angeles. The full lineup of games to be featured in the tournament have not been announced, but Nintendo says that the original Legend of Zelda will be included.
Nintendo is once again foregoing a traditional press conference in favor of a digital-only livestream called Nintendo Direct. This year’s Direct will be live on June 16 at 12 p.m. ET. Following Nintendo Direct, Nintendo Treehouse will be livestreaming gameplay and commentary of games shown during the Direct from June 16-18 for those viewing at home.
