Lucas Fighter, Splatoon Outfits Coming to Smash Bros. for Wii U/3DS June 14

June 5, 2015 by Michael Fossbakk

Lucas will be joining the Nintendo beat-em-up Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS on June 14, according to a tweet from Nintendo of America Friday.

The Mother 3 character will be available for purchase on June 14 at 11 a.m. ET for $3.99 individually on 3DS or Wii U, or for both platforms for $4.99, according to the official Smash Bros. website.

Check out Lucas’ introduction video below:

Also on June 14, players will be able to purchase Splatoon-themed outfits for their in-game Mii Fighters. Purchasing the outfits on one platform will cost $0.75 or $1.15 for both platforms.

The Japanese Super Smash Bros. Twitter account also made the aforementioned announcements for their Japanese audience; however, they also mentioned a “Miiverse stage” to be available at the same time as Lucas and the Splatoon outfits. Nintendo of America has not mentioned a Miiverse stage, but we will provide an update should they make an announcement.

Lucas was announced in April alongside Mewtwo as two characters that would be returning to the Super Smash Bros. franchise. Lucas was a playable fighter in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, while Mewtwo was featured in Super Smash Bros. Melee.

No word on whether Lucas will be getting the amiibo treatment like his Earthbound counterpart Ness.

Will you be picking up Lucas on June 14 or will you just stick with playing Ness for the time being? Let us know in the comments below!
