E3 may not officially start until June 16th, but 2K Games and Gearbox Software have already released the E3 trailer for Battleborn and confirmed the game is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One this winter.
The online shooter boasts 25 playable characters which can be used in either single player or co-op story mode, as well as the game's three competitive multiplayer modes. Each hero is said to be unique and carry an assortment of different weapons to keep things interesting. Battles can take place within the game's environments or in MOBA-style scenarios.
Battleborn is set in the far future, where all but one of the universe's stars have gone dark due to an enigmatic enemy. The last star, Solus, is the only hope for the survivors, who have fought bitter wars over dwindling resources. As the Battleborn fight for their own factions the mysterious enemy who started it all is out to finish the job, forcing the heroes to unite or perish.
Battleborn was announced just over a year ago and will be playable at E3 from June 16th.
