Update: Remedy CEO Matias Myllyrine Leaves Company After 15 Years

June 4, 2015 by Stephen Daly

Myllyrine has served as CEO since 2008.

Update: Myllyrine has joined World of Tanks maker Wargaming, Gamesbeat reports.

Original Story: Matias Myllyrine has departed Remedy after 15 years at the company, where he has served as CEO since 2008.

The news was announced on Remedy's website and by Myllyrine on Twitter.

After 15 year @remedygames it is time to leave for a new adventure. Thanks 4 all the support. RMD will be a tough act to follow.

Myllyrine also sits on the board of directors of Starbreeze.

"I’ve been with Remedy since 1999 – this is a long time," Myllyrine commented in a statement. "It is time for me to move on. It has been a great ride and now is the right time to start another adventure. Remedy will be an unbelievably tough act to follow."

Remedy is currently marking its 20th anniversary and the studio's next game, Xbox One exclusive Quantum Break, will be released in 2016.

A successor has not yet been named and Myllyrine has offered no information regarding his plans for the future.

Former Remedy head of franchise development Oskari "Ozz" Häkkinen recently left to start his own app development company.
