Over the weekend, the Square Enix France Facebook page posted a photo of Donald, Sora, and Goofy. It was coupled with the caption (translated): “What is your best memory of the series? What is your level of expectation for the very next Kingdom Hearts III?”
Now, this could just be the folks at Square Enix France tugging at our heartstrings, but Square Enix has stated before that we’d be getting more Kingdom Hearts 3 in 2015. E3 would be a really good opportunity to give us that. They’ve guaranteed it for D23 in Japan, which is still in October, and we don’t see why they can’t show us something – anything, really! – a little earlier.
Enter Square Enix Germany, who just a few weeks ago teased Kingdom Hearts X[chi]. Pretty soon, Kingdom Hearts Unchained X[chi] showed up. It’s probably safe to say that Square Enix takes teasing to a whole new level, and this hints at the possibility that we might get KH3 sooner rather than later. Adding to our hope is a more recent video post, again on the Square Enix France Facebook page, captioned, “Relive the magic of Kingdom Hearts!” This was coupled with the hashtag #KingdomHeartsIII, and has us screaming internally out of excitement. It’s likely that the video post was hinting at a PS4 bundle of Kingdom Hearts 1.5 and 2.5, but why would they release that, if not in preparation for the arrival ofKingdom Hearts 3?
Could we be getting a new trailer? Gameplay footage? An actual release date?! Your guess is as good as ours. We’d really like to see KH3 at E3.
