EA had been promising something pretty big, and this is it! It looks like enough people have badgered EA for women’s teams, because they’re finally in. From what we can tell, the 12 teams that are going to be represented in the game are among the top 25 Women’s National Teams (according to FIFA World Rankings).
Women’s National Teams can only compete against other Women’s National Teams in Match Day, Offline Tournaments, and Online Friendly Matches. You can choose from the following: Germany, USA, France, Sweden, England, Brazil, Canada, Australia, Spain, China, Italy, and Mexico. Players were recreated in-game, capturing their body movements and play styles. Facial animation, hair movement, and running motion have also been taken into account, so this should make for the most authentic representation of the Women’s National Teams. EA is promising that these star players will move and look just like they do during real competition.
The addition of the Women’s National Teams to FIFA 16 has garnered mixed reactions so far. It is a first for this EA Sports franchise, so we’re not really sure what to expect from it at the moment. We'll be waiting on more details as the release date approaches. FIFA 16 will be released for PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 in September 2015.
