Previously, we’d given you a quick run-through of what you can expect in the Trials of Osiris, the new weekend event in Destiny that dropped with the House of Wolves expansion. You must purchase a Trials Passage which serves as your ticket and score card. You’re allowed three losses, and that’s it. The number of victories you manage to get dictates what you can purchase from Brother Vance, the vendor in the Reef. Two to three wins will get you a blue package that contains Motes of Light, Passage Coins, and other items. Five wins gains you the ability to purchase the weekly armor. Six wins will get you a Legendary package. Seven wins will give you the ability to purchase the weekly weapon. Eight wins will let you buy a Legendary package. Just go back to Brother Vance with your completed Trials Passage and you can purchase the corresponding unlocked items. Once you’ve claimed all your rewards, you can get a new Trials Passage and start over.
All of that sounds great, but there’s actually one more prize. You need to get NINE straight wins in order to unlock it, and this is really the only reason you should start on a new Trials Passage, because the prize packages don’t reset until the next round of Trials. The ultimate prize: access to The Lighthouse.
Only true champions of the Trials of Osiris may enter The Lighthouse, which is located on Mercury. Upon landing, you begin walking through a tunnel, which leads out to a large open area. There are numerous pathways, many of which are currently sealed. There are no updates yet as to when or how these pathways will be opened, but it’s likely we’ll find out more about them in the coming weeks.
Your main goal in accessing The Lighthouse is to get to the Trials of Osiris loot chest which contains adept Trials of Osiris weapons, but you could also get exotic items, emblems, and gear. Re-accessing The Lighthouse should still be possible for the duration of the weekend that you gained access, but you’ll probably have to re-earn your way in, in the succeeding weekends.
The first round of the Trials of Osiris is almost over. How have you and your teammates fared?
