EA Mobile executive vice president Frank Gibeau has left EA after more than 23 years at the company, he joined around the time the SNES launched.
Gibeau served in numerous roles during his time at EA, including as president of EA Labels. He controversially said he was proud of the inclusion of online features in every EA game but later oversaw "changes to the business practices that gamers clearly don't like," including the removal of the online pass feature.
"Throughout a more than 20-year career, Frank's made many significant contributions to the company, our people and our games," EA CEO Andrew Wilson commented. "Most recently, he's worked to strengthen EA Mobile by building a great team. We'd like to thank Frank for his achievements at EA, and we wish him all the best in his next chapter."
Wilson added that mobile games remain a "core focus" at EA and mobile Star Wars and The Minions games are currently in development.
