In HaloFollower’s newest video, we get a few new details on both Halo 5: Guardians and Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
Fans scouring the Halo 5: Guardians alternate reality game, known as “Hunt the Signal,” have come across some interesting images that suggest a return of the series’ zombie stand-in, known as The Flood. The gifs that have been uncovered show images of a cell-like structure with what appear to be mountain peak-like structures rising on the surface of the cell. Some fans believe this to be 343 Industries hinting at the return of The Flood in Halo 5: Guardians, but others believe this to be an image of the virus found in the live-action mini-series Halo Nightfall.
The Halo 2 multiplayer map that was announced to be remade for Halo: The Master Chief Collection as consolation (along with a remastered version of Halo 3: ODST) for online stability issues at the launch of Halo: MCC, known as “Relic” in the original Halo 2, will be called “Remnant” when it releases “either this month or the next” as a downloadable map for Halo: The Master Chief Collection, receiving the full Halo 2: Anniversary treatment that was given to six of Halo 2’s original maps with updated visuals, environment changes, and more.
Last month, on the Halo Waypoint blog, it was announced that the remake of Halo 3: ODST, in addition to the aforementioned “Remnant” multiplayer map, were on track for release in May in “our next content update.” With two weeks left in May, both pieces of content have yet to be released on Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
