Were you disappointed with the way Fallout 4 was revealed? Let’s commiserate with MrMattyTalks, whom you can subscribe to on YouTube here.
If you had forgotten, we received confirmation of the game completely secondhand, by way of LinkedIn. Fans found that a freelance artist credited work on a Fallout 4 trailer on his CV, made for Guillermo Del Toro owned Mirada Studios.
While many fans were happy to finally receive confirmation of the game, as well as an indication that this trailer will be appearing in Bethesda’s E3 presentation, many fans were disappointed by the reveal.
In specific, they were disappointed with the nature of the reveal. They considered how Bethesda had worked extremely hard to keep their plans a secret. Considering that many fans believe they had been working on the game for over five years now, Bethesda truly had to be dedicated to keeping details completely mum.
There is one more element to this spoiler. With the revelation that the trailer was made by a movie studio, we know that the upcoming trailer will not be indicative of the final product. This is not necessarily a bad thing; Mirada has made cinematic trailers for Mario Kart 8, of all games. Those trailers did a good job of selling the game, whether they reflected the game’s final quality or not.
And yet, for this 8th generation of consoles, fans have some expectations regarding graphics on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. If the trailer won’t show them they will get the Fallout 4 they want, will Bethesda show actual game footage anyway?
