Fans of Rockstar Games are familiar with at least two IPs. The studio is known for delivering the Grand Theft Auto franchise along with the Red Dead Redemption series. So far, Red Dead Redemption fans have had an extensive new installment. This isn’t the most recent video game release, but Red Dead Redemption 2 did come out initially in 2018. Now it looks like fans can expect another significant installment release.
I’m sure no one thought Rockstar Games was abandoning Red Dead Redemption. The next major installment hasn’t been unveiled yet, but we’re expecting another release due to the immense popularity. It looks like the developers have already been hard at work with the next installment. A Rockstar Games developer might have accidentally unveiled that they have been working on a Red Dead Redemption 3 game.
This bit of news comes from a lead AI and gameplay programmer who has been with Rockstar Games since 2014. In their Linkedin profile, the employee noted that they have two years of experience leading the vehicle AI team through the development of RDR3. That, of course, would stand for Red Dead Redemption 3. Although, there’s a possibility that this is just a typo. Again, because of how successful Red Dead Redemption and its sequel have been, it’s not surprising to see the developers release the third game go into development.
Red Dead Redemption 2 was a prequel to Red Dead Redemption. It would be interesting to see where Rockstar Games takes Red Dead Redemption 3 in terms of the timeline. Unfortunately, we might be several years out before a game reveal on Red Dead Redemption 3 happens. Instead, there are plenty of fans hopeful that a remastered edition for Red Dead Redemption comes out.
