Have you ever dreamt of riding Yoshi? Floating on Kirby? Racing Mario? Well, your dreams may be coming true. Nintendo has announced that it has plans to bring attractions to Universal theme parks. Universal will get to reap the benefits of being the only theme park with Nintendo-themed rides.
Nintendo made a statement to International Gaming News:
"Now, for the first time, those stories and characters will be brought to life in entirely new ways – only at Universal theme parks," the announcement reads. "The immersive experiences will include major attractions at Universal’s theme parks and will feature Nintendo’s most famous characters and games.
This effort is an attempt to expand Nintendo's presence and improve upon their shaky growth. The company only recently became profitable – for the first time in three years. For a presence generally considered to be one of gaming's biggest and baddest, that doesn't speak very well of the company.
That said, we couldn't be more excited to hear about these developments. Hopefully, by next summer, some of these different attractions will be completed and active.
