Destiny: House of Wolves Will Change Destiny for the Better

April 23, 2015 by Jacob Saylor

Destiny 2 isn’t that far away, however.

Destiny will be getting its second expansion next month and fans have been asking what new content will be available to play through. Some of the coolest, new things coming to Destiny are as follows:

  • The Reef social space, which will act as a sort of second Tower
  • House of Judgment gear vendor
  • Queen's Wrath bounties
  • Interaction with House of Wolves agents
  • New raids

More important than the new content, however, might be the changes coming to Destiny's existing weaponry and armor system. When Destiny first hit store shelves, many gamers were critical of the weapon and armor system, which essentially required players spend a massive amount of time in-game to make any real progress. Players will now have the opportunity to "ascend" armor and weapons. This applies to any purple or yellow year, so you've got to spend less time trying to find the perfect piece of equipment.

When you ascend a piece of equipment, it upgrades the item's statistics to the maximum base level. The only differences will be in the upgrades you've already unlocked for the equipment. Bungie, developer of the game, will also be introducing a reforge feature that will allow you to rearrange your chosen perks on a weapon without having to recreate it. This will only apply to items picked up in House of Wolves, though.

House of Wolves is out May 19 for Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
