Deus Ex: Mankind Divided was announced earlier this month to major celebration. The first game in the series arrived as a cult hit that achieved a modicum of mainstream popularity, but publisher Square Enix and developer Eidos Montreal are working hard to push it into the limelight this time around.
Elias Toufexis is the lead actor, playing the role of Adam Jensen in the Deus Ex series. He'll be reprising this position during the events of Mankind Divided, which comes a welcome development for many fans of the franchise. However, Toufexis hasn't always been so fond of the job he's done regarding his portrayal of Adam Jensen.
He made this statement in an interview with Twinfinite:
Technically, I approached it a little differently in the sense that I know who Jensen is now. On Human Revolution it took me a few months of work to find my stride with him. (Something that I spot in DXHR gameplay. Parts of my performance are like nails on a chalkboard to me.) This time around I knew exactly where to begin and where to take him. Also, though I did a little bit last time, I fully performance capture and voice Adam. It’s much more freeing for an actor to not be locked in a sound booth for major scenes, but to actually be playing them like a film.
We'd be interested to hear what parts of the game Toufexis isn't proud of.
