Phil Spencer continues to tease DirectX 12 and the improvements it will bring to Xbox One. It turns out it will definitely have an effect on the dashboard.
Fielding questions from a fan on Twitter, Phil confirmed that the Xbox One dashboard can actually make full use of the Xbox One’s features, so it already has been making the most of what the console can offer now, and will be a full beneficiary of the DirectX 12 update.
When prodded further, Phil asserted that speeding up the console’s UI is one of their priority improvements.
Xbox One seems to be a mixed bag for the fans who stayed loyal and bought the console. While it objectively has some strengths over both the PlayStation 4 and Wii U, the console continues to live under the shadow of its initial reveal. You may call it unfair, but many fans have simply written the Xbox One off, and haven’t been paying attention to the improvements Team Xbox have made since then.
However, things have changed for Team Xbox, and Phil continues to tease a sea change for both Xbox One and Windows 10, thanks to DirectX 12.
