Batman Arkham Knight: Next Trailer Coming This Month, Wave 1 DC Direct Figures Revealed

April 8, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

The figures seem to have potential story spoilers, as an unannounced character is outed – and one toy wasn’t previewed.

We have some new details on Batman Arkham Knight, as the first wave of DC Collectibles has been revealed, and a trailer is promised for this month.

There are six figures in the wave: Batman, Harley Quinn, Scarecrow, Red Hood, Arkham Knight, and Clayface. These figures were all sculpted by Gentle Giant, so breaking with older DC Direct collectible conventions, they feature much more articulation. Red Hood, Harley, and Bruce get double jointed knees and elbows, and the infamous sideways hips have been replaced with full rotating hip sockets.

However, the Clayface figure is definitely the star of the show. Whereas the other figures stand at 6.5” and will cost $ 24.99, the Titan Clayface is a costly $ 99.99 and a towering 13”. He has interchangeable hands and arms, with some attachments containing metal parts for durability.

However, the true revelation is Clayface’s removable face, as Joker’s mask appears right under it. Of course, if you may remember, Clayface did impersonate Joker in Arkham City. However, he definitely did not look anything like this. It seems that Clayface will be returning, and impersonating Joker, for part of Arkham Knight.

Interestingly enough, Arkham Knight’s figure was not made available for preview. It’s entirely possible that this is a deliberate choice to keep story spoilers from being revealed too early.

Regarding the trailer, this is the same one that Rocksteady asked for feedback for, so that they would feature what the fans wanted. No word what precisely it will feature, but that’s a surprise we can look forward to. Caboose believes we may get to see either Red Hood or Harley Quinn gameplay, but what do you think it will be? What would you prefer to see? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.

Batman Arkham Knight  will be released on June 2 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, GNU/Linux, and Mac OS.
