The upcoming Pillars of Eternity from Obsidian Entertainment and Paradox Interactive is a role-playing game in the vein of Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale and Planescape: Torment. Funded through Kickstarter to a tune of 4.5 million dollars, the game is set for release in just a few days time.
With its impending release, the game's creators have released a documentary showcasing Obsidian's decision to attempt their Kickstarter.
This behind-the-scenes look, both parts of which can be seen below, follows the creation of Pillars of Eternity and how it was funded two years ago by more than 70 thousand backers.
This portion reveals the sentiment and mindset at the studio as the weight of keeping their studio open was lifted, and immediately replaced by the pressure to live up to their backers' expectations.
