Mass Effect 4 will be making its way to into the gaming world at a nondescript time in 2016. While many would say that this is too early for developer Bioware to even anounce the game, we're sure the overwhelming majority are simply ecstatic that the title's been confirmed for release.
A snippet of video published by IGN has raised a very interesting rumor regarding Mass Effect 4. The video in question was released during the news outlet's E3 2014 coverage, but nobody batted an eye at it until now. Apparently, at around 39 seconds into the video, there is a Prothean. Those of you familiar with the Mass Effect games will know why this is such a huge event, but I'll explain anyway.
While the Prothean race hasn't been seen in the Mass Effect universe for over 50,000 years, their return could signify some major plot points. Their contributions to the modern scientific era in current games are second to none.
While everything past the Prothean's presence in IGN's E3 coverage is simply speculation, we're very excited at the prospect of dealing with the ancient alien race. This sort of intrigue is what makes the Mass Effect series so popular.
